BELARE 2007-2008: Setting Foot at Utsteinen
This first photo galery on the BELARE 2007-2008 expedition shows progression of the buiding team in Utsteinen. You will see that the base camp has been fully set up with relative comfort, that the Prinoth tractors have successfully hauled back the containers from Breid Bay, that the garage construction is well on its way and, finally, that the team has begun drilling the anchoring holes for the station in the Utsteinen ridge.

The Hammar fell into a crevasse on the first traverse to the coast. Luckily the crevasse was quite narrow and it only took the men about 10 minutes to free the Hammar sledge.
