Daily Life at Princess Elisabeth Antarctica
Life at Princess Elisabeth Antarctica Station is a balance of research, logistics, and fieldwork in an extreme environment. During the austral summer, temperatures can rise above freezing, causing meltwater pools that require careful maintenance of roofs and equipment.
Daily tasks include unloading cargo, preparing field equipment, and supporting extended expeditions, while traverses across the ice offer opportunities to rest and take in the Antarctic landscapes. Teamwork and coordination are essential to keep the station running smoothly and ensure the success of all scientific activities.
Everyone is excited and can hardly wait for the upcoming 2025–2026 season.
