Moving Supplies in Extreme Conditions
Logistics in Antarctica is always a challenge, and during the BELARE 2024–2025 season, the team faced the demanding task of unloading cargo from the supply ship. Every operation requires careful planning, teamwork, and years of experience to safely transfer equipment and supplies in extreme weather conditions.
Once off the ship, cargo is carefully placed on sledges and prepared for transport back to Princess Elisabeth Antarctica Station, ensuring that scientists and engineers have everything they need for the season ahead. These logistical operations are the backbone of the station’s work, making all field research and daily life possible in one of the most remote places on Earth.
