The GEOMAG Project - Monitoring Earth’s Magnetic Field
The GEOMAG project, led by the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium, is dedicated to monitoring Earth’s geomagnetic field from one of the most remote locations on the planet. At the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica Station, the team operates instruments housed in the non-magnetic Radome scientific shelter, specially designed to ensure accurate measurements free from interference.
This season, the GEOMAG team is also updating the electrical systems that power their instruments, allowing them to be adjusted remotely and ensuring continuous, high-quality data collection throughout the year.
