Departure for Antarctica

After having been delayed by bad weather for a few days, the station's team could finally leave Cape Town on Sunday the 9th of November for Novolazarevskaya Station in Queen Maud Land.

The flight from Cape Town to Antarctica takes about six hours. The team arrived in Novo around 13h00. After unloading the equipment from the Ilyushin, it was loaded into a much smaller DC3 that left Novo three hours later.

After a rather short 1.5 hour flight, the nine passengers finally reached Princess Elisabeth Antarctica around 17h35 that same day.

Let the season begin!
