Live from Antarctica 2.0 Coming on January 15th!

In partnership with the Spike Center for Sustainability Education, the Cooperative Institute of Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), and the Media and Climate Change Observatory (MeCCO) at CU Boulder, the International Polar Foundation invites you to discover the fascinating work that’s happening at the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica - the world's first zero-emission research station.

During the special webinar, which will broadcast on January 15th directly from the Princes Elisabeth at 9:30 am Mountain Standard Time (MST) in North America and 5:30 pm Central European Time (CET), participants will learn more about how this unique station functions and the scientific research projects it’s welcoming this year.

Engineers will explain how the station’s renewable energy production and smart grid functions, as well as its state-of-the art water treatment system, which treats and reuses wastewater.

Scientists from BELSPO-funded PASPARTOUT and ROMA projects along with a scientist from the SnowFlux project managed by the EPFL in Switzerland will explain the research they’re working on this season.

Following an hour or so of presentations, there will be 20-30 minutes of Q&A at the end.
