Live From Antarctica: Saturday December 20

The base camp team spent its day saying goodbye, again! This morning the DC-3 crew took off, thanking us for our hospitality, which is about to become legendary throughout the Eastern continent. They took off with the glaciologists of BELISSIMA. Their mission has just finished.

This afternoon, the " unloading " convoy also took off, heading for the coast. Alain was in the lead (4 Prinoth tractors left on this convoy). The fourth tractor was repaired just in time by the mechanics who worked on it non-stop for 30 hours. Thanks to Kristof and Jurgen, the four Prinoths were out on the snow, loaded with food supplies and tools. We watched them leave as they followed the snow tracks to the East of the Station. With 5 scientists gone and 8 people on the convoy: there are only 11 of us left.
